18 players competed in the SPA Singles Championship at Ayr Petanque Club on Saturday 30 June. A very big thank you to Ayr for hosting their first SPA event for a few years – they did a great job and the play area was immaculately presented on a very warm day.

Robbie Stronach won with 5 wins, 24 BHN, Paul Fletcher was second with 5 wins, 19 BHN, who just pipped Kevin Johnstone into third.  The full results are shown below.

The Shooting Championship was also contested, with players registering a qualifying score during breaks in play in the Singles. The top 4 players from the qualifying round played semi finals, with the 2 winners playing off in the final for the title.

Paul Fletcher won, and also registered the top score of the day – 32. Kevin Johnstone was runner up.
